Energy Economist We are looking for a quantitative analyst with strong econometric or macroeconomic background in long term volume or price forecasting with a good understanding on long term assets and supply demand in North West Europe. An insight into the global picture is also an advantage. The successful candidate will work closely with our energy advisors focussing on the senior level of major energy companies in Europe. You will work with our senior analysts to further the analytical framework of our current long-term gas price forecasting models. The gas market is in continuous development and you will retaina finger on the pulse of the market, interact with some of the biggest European energy companies and pro-actively maintain the current momentum of long term analysis services. Qualifications: Candidates should have a background in economics/econometrics/energy assets with more than 10 years experience. You should be highly numerate with an ability to write clearly and concisely. You will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and be comfortably communicating at a senior level. Senior Analyst to support Advisory services Eclipse has developed a position as one of the main contributors to the commercial decision makers and management in energy companies across Europe. The scope is wide ranging but some typical tasks have been negotiations support, expert opinion, analysis of flexibility, prices and other main issues for the European markets. We interact with both upstream and downstream from trader to board level. We are looking for a candidate to work with our team to support and further this work. This is gathered from various sources and needs to processed so that it is easily available for use by our analysis team. Increasingly the data collection is automated and the need to interface with data providers and intelligently process the data in a database is also growing rapidly.
We are looking for a candidate to actively participate and take ownership of this process. From data collection through to automated analytical results. The successful candidate will need the ability to work with teams across different locations and a background in programming. The position is focussed on building automated data gathering analysis and support tools with intranet and extranet functionality. A background in energy related IT issues is an advantage. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to be a shaping force in the development of the company infrastructure and will work in cooperation with the analysis team.
